Freedom to Choose a Supplier

Deregulation of the natural gas industry has created savings opportunities for Massachusetts customers of New England Gas Company. Residential and business customers now have access to "Customer Choice," a program enabling them to choose a gas supplier, and have their gas transported by New England Gas Company. Historically, natural gas sales, transportation and local delivery were offered to customers as a bundled service. As a result of a 2000 ruling from the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU), these customers can be offered "unbundled" services.

This unbundling initiative allows customers to competitively choose from certified gas marketers for their natural gas supply. Customers can now research gas prices and choose a qualified supplier. As always, New England Gas Company will continue to provide safe, reliable and efficient gas delivery. New England Gas Company representatives are available to provide insight on any initial transportation topics when customers decide to move to transportation service.
