Sample Bill for Residential Customers

Here's a sample New England Gas Company bill. You'll notice that some key areas are numbered; these are the areas where the bill has changed.

1. Account Number
The Account Number is shown in several places on the bill. This number should be included on all payments, including those made through online banking.
2. Amount Due
The Amount Due is the amount that you are required to pay by the due date shown on your bill. This amount will match the amount displayed in the box "Amount Due By DD-MMM-YYYY."
3. REMIT PAYMENT TO:
The return envelopes are now window envelopes. Please be sure this address shows in the window prior to sealing the envelope.
4. Payment Arrangement
If there is a Payment Arrangement on the account, please note that the Payment Arrangement Amount Due will display on the payment stub and in the “At Your Service” area along with the “Current Bill Amount Due.”
5. Customer Information Box
The Customer Information Box on the Account Summary page now contains your Account Number and the Next Read Date for your convenience.
6. Account Summary
This section of your bill contains the following information:
Previous Balance less any payments.
Balance Forward plus or less any current charges, non-gas items or adjustments.
Total Charges This Period displays total amount owed on your account.
Your Monthly Budget Amount will appear if you are on the Budget Billing Plan.
Account Balance This Period will display here if you are on a Payment Arrangement.
7. At Your Service
This section will now appear on the Account Summary page of the bill.
8. Customer Service
The Web Site address has been added here for your convenience.
9. Account Information
The content of this section has not changed. However, we have modified the format for your convenience.
10. Detail Charges
If you are a North Attleboro customer, the Quantity Used will be measured in Therms.
11. Usage History
Your Usage History is now displayed in a bar graph format so that you can easily monitor your annual usage. Additionally, we now reference the type of read: (A) Actual, (E) Estimated or (C) Customer.
12. Payment History
This section itemizes the last 12 payments or credits made on your account. Additionally, a payment code has been added to identify payments not made by the customer.
